About Alignment
Alignment is one of the producers who gave modern hard techno its melodic conscience: industrial-grade kicks and rave stabs fused with hypnotic, trance-inflected melodies. Behind the alias is Francesco Pierfelici from Bologna - classically trained on clarinet, self-taught as a producer, and making beats since the age of 14.
From Riccione to Berlin
A night in a Riccione club (hearing international guests like Len Faki) pulled him toward techno’s big kicks, and a move to Berlin sealed it. Signed to Voxnox in 2014, he built his name release by release; his “Infinity” EP on the label famously sold out in three weeks, and his work drew support from heavyweights including Richie Hawtin, Charlotte de Witte, Amelie Lens and Chris Liebing.
Trance in the machine
What separates Alignment from the harder-is-better pack is restraint: tracks like “Mystical Energy”, “Hidden Frequencies” and “Close Your Eyes” (his most popular on HDRR’s tracking) put hypnotic melody at the center and let the kick serve it. It is the same raw-meets-euphoric balance reshaping the whole scene, from OGUZ to Shlømo. In 2024 he doubled down on that vision with his own label, Orbital, after years of releases on Voxnox, KNTXT and FLASH Recordings, and stages from Awakenings to Intercell.
