Mark With a K

Mark With a K is Belgian hard dance royalty: Mark Carpentier has been behind decks since a 1999 residency at the legendary Highstreet club, released his first record (“Pure Perfection”, with Danny C) in 2003, and has spent two decades making the harder styles palatable to enormous audiences without softening the kick. He remains one of the hardstyle scene’s great crossover engineers.

Five albums and a label

Between 2009 and 2018 he released five albums (from “My World” to “Mass Hysteria”), and in 2012 founded Noize Junky, a label home for Belgium’s jumpstyle and tek currents. The catalogue swings between festival hardstyle, jump and unashamed pop reworks; his 2017 remix of Xillions’ “Somebody Like Me” blew past 90 million YouTube views and became one of the biggest harder-styles crossover moments of its era.

Festival fixture

Reverze, The Qontinent, Defqon.1, Decibel outdoor - and Tomorrowland, where he brought the harder styles to the world’s most famous festival grounds. On HDRR’s tracking his most popular current releases are the The Dark Horror remix of “Oasis”, “Apologize” and “Another Love”, proof the remix instinct hasn’t aged.
