Frequencerz

Frequencerz began as a division of labour: Pepijn Hol founded the project in 2005 but couldn’t perform as a DJ, so he went looking for one, and found Niels Koster, an internet friend who completed the duo. Two decades later they sit at the centre of hardstyle’s raw wing.

From Fusion to the main stage

Early support came from the genre’s establishment: Deepack closed the Defqon.1 2008 main stage with their track ‘Tomorrow and Beyond’, and in July 2009 Fusion Records signed the duo. Tracks like ‘Wolfpack’, ‘Renegades’ and ‘The Unknown’ turned them from promising newcomers into festival fixtures.

Building Roughstate

In March 2015, Frequencerz co-founded Roughstate together with Ran-D, Adaro and B-Front (a label that has since defined the polished, festival-scale end of rawstyle), and the same year launched B-Freqz, the joint live act they share with B-Front. They also used that platform to make scene history: at Qlimax 2017 they unveiled Rejecta by playing his unreleased tracks to a packed GelreDome, a co-sign that launched his career overnight.

Two decades deep

The duo marked their anniversary with the ‘10 Years of Hardstyle’ album on Roughstate, and they remain one of the acts other producers trust with premieres. Their catalogue keeps expanding alongside the label circle they built with Ran-D and Adaro.
