About Outsiders
Outsiders is one of the busiest names in Dutch hard dance, a DJ who plays hundreds of shows a year and has the streaming numbers to match. Behind the name is Cem Araci from The Hague, who has carried the project solo since 2014 and built it into one of the most-streamed hardstyle exports in the country.
From vinyl to a duo, then solo
Araci started DJing as a kid, learning the craft on vinyl before hard dance took over his sound. He launched Outsiders as a duo with Murat Meijer in 2008, and when Meijer stepped away in 2014, Araci kept the name and pushed it harder than ever, building toward a reported 250-plus bookings a year across Europe.
Gold records and crossover hits
Outsiders’ commercial peak came through collaborations and reworks that crossed from the hard scene into the pop charts. ‘Flitsmeister’ with Jebroer drew tens of millions of streams and went gold, as did his remix of Snelle’s ‘Reünie’, and ‘Irrenhaus’ with Harris & Ford extended his reach into the German-speaking market. Three gold records and a platinum award followed.
The rework specialist
His 2024 take on ‘Wonderful Days Reloaded’, a modern rebuild of the 1994 Charly Lownoise and Mental Theo classic, is Outsiders in a nutshell: a beloved song remade for today’s festival floors. Alongside acts like Da Tweekaz, he has made the high-energy rework a signature move, and HDRR tracks each new one as it drops.
