About Tatanka

Tatanka has been behind Italian decks longer than hardstyle has existed. Valerio Mascellino found dance music around 1993, took a residency at the Alhambra Club in 1995, and carried that club-bred instinct into the harder styles as they emerged, ending up one of the Italian school’s defining veterans alongside Technoboy and Tuneboy.

Afrika, Tokyo, Eternal

His signature run gave Italian hardstyle some of its most recognisable melodies: ‘Afrika’, ‘Tokyo’ and ‘Eternal’ remain the tracks his name conjures, and in HDRR’s tracking ‘Tokyo’ and ‘Afrika’ still lead his Spotify catalogue today, with ‘Tokyo Reload’ (2015), ‘A Brighter Day’ (2017) and ‘Don’t Give Up’ (2019) extending the melody-first lineage. A Ran-D remix of ‘Hard Bass’ (2019) bridged him to the Dutch raw generation.

Wild Motherfuckers

With Zatox he shares Italian hardstyle’s rowdiest side project: Wild Motherfuckers, the duo behind ‘Natural Born Raver’, ‘Fother Mucker’, ‘Wild Wild West’ and ‘Alarma’. Eighteen shared credits in HDRR’s tracking make Zatox his most frequent partner by far.

Zanzalabs

Mascellino runs his own label, Zanzalabs, home to much of his later catalogue. HDRR tracks 92 Tatanka releases from 2005 through 2025, three decades of DJing distilled into one steady discography.

Every new Tatanka release lands on the Hardstyle Release Radar the day it hits Spotify. The full tracked catalogue is listed above.
