About Technoboy

Hardstyle wasn’t built in the Netherlands alone: Italy supplied a founding school of its own, and Technoboy is its head teacher. Cristiano Giusberti started in 1992 as DJ Gius with a Bologna club residency, grinding through Italy’s dance circuit years before the genre existed.

The Kernkraft moment

Worldwide fame arrived in 1999, when his DJ Gius remix of Zombie Nation’s ‘Kernkraft 400’ travelled the globe. Soon after, needing a catchy alias for tracks he’d made for the Titanic label (‘techno’ being Italy’s generic term for hard dance at the time), Technoboy was born. It became the flagship of an enormous fleet, built on a deliberate strategy: more names made artist and label look bigger than they were. Verified Giusberti projects run from 2 Best Enemies and The KGB’s to Aceto, plus the shared acts Hardstyle Masterz (with Tuneboy) and the four-man Saifam studio project Dark Oscillators. At the peak of his solo run he delivered ‘Next Dimensional World’, the official Qlimax 2008 anthem, and the 2009 Titanic single ‘Ti Sento’.

The Titanic empire

Giusberti’s influence runs deeper than his own discography: a Saifam Group producer since 1998 and an A&R manager ever since his 1992 start at the Record 66 DJ market, he has supervised Titanic Records, Dance Pollution, Red Alert, Spectra, Green Force, BLQ and Bonzai’s Italian branches, the label infrastructure through which the Italian hardstyle sound reached the world, alongside compatriots like Zatox, Tatanka and Tuneboy. With the latter he also forms TNT, the duo behind some of Italian hardstyle’s biggest festival records.

Elder statesman, current catalogue

Decades on, the catalogue still moves: ‘Hard Beat’ (2024) currently leads his Spotify tracks in HDRR’s tracking, and his early-era classics remain fixtures in classics sets alongside Dutch pioneers like The Prophet and DJ Isaac.

Every new Technoboy release lands on the Hardstyle Release Radar the day it hits Spotify. The full tracked catalogue is listed above.
