Dark Oscillators

Dark Oscillators is the Saifam camp operating at full pool: four producers (Technoboy, Tuneboy, Luca Antolini and Saifam mainstay Mauro Farina) sharing one masked flag. Where most Bologna aliases hid one or two people, this one hid a whole studio floor.

Stereophobia and Hardstyle Hell

The project’s tracked run opens in 2003 and peaks mid-decade: ‘Stereophobia’ (2006) still leads the catalogue in HDRR’s tracking, with ‘Nero’ (2007), ‘Food For Woofers’ and the on-the-nose 2004 vinyl ‘Hardstyle Hell’ mapping the group’s dark, driving corner of hardstyle.

Inside the alias economy

Dark Oscillators shows how the camp’s machine worked: ‘Nobody Is Perfect’ (2004) got a remix from TNT (two of the four members remixing themselves under their flagship name), and ‘Nasty Jungle’ one from Hardstyle Masterz, the same two under yet another flag. Alongside The KGB’s and 2 Best Enemies, it made a handful of Bologna producers read like an entire national scene, which, in effect, they were.
