About D-Frek

D-Frek is what a frenchcore fast-track looks like. Jules Ricard, born 1996 in Salon-de-Provence, started producing at 17 in 2013, ground away for four years, and released his first EP in 2017, which immediately caught the ear of the genre’s biggest artist.

The Peacock co-sign

That artist was Dr. Peacock, who brought the youngster onto Peacock Records for the ‘Shambala’ EP in the same year. In a scene where trust is earned over years, getting frenchcore’s flagship label behind you after one EP is about as loud as endorsements get.

Melodic force

D-Frek’s production blends melody with the genre’s trademark violence: soaring leads over the relentless, pitched-up frenchcore kick. It carried him to the harder styles’ most prestigious stages: Dominator, Masters of Hardcore and Defqon.1, where his sets earned a reputation for power and precision. He also operates as one half of the duo Neural Strikers alongside Blaster.

The French wave

He belongs to the generation keeping France’s harder-styles export dominant, alongside Sefa and countrymen like Billx, with Remzcore flying the same flag from Belgium. His 2022 cut ‘Can Can’ currently tops his Spotify catalogue in HDRR’s tracking.

Every new D-Frek release lands on the Frenchcore Release Radar the day it hits Spotify. The full tracked catalogue is listed above.
