Dimitri K compressed a career arc that usually takes a decade into about four years. Demis Dimitri Kanakis from Utrecht, born in 1998, released his first tracks in 2020, and by mid-decade he was one of the names uptempo hardcore gets defined by.

Sawkicks as a signature

His sound leaves no ambiguity: intense sawkicks, screaming screeches, zero downtime. ‘Fresh New Kicks’ and his edit of E-Force’s ‘Seven’ became calling cards, and several releases have charted in the Masters of Hardcore top 100 tracks. It’s uptempo built like a weapon, which is exactly what the genre’s arms race rewards.

Fast company

HDRR tracks 75 Dimitri K releases, a striking number for a project this young, with collaborators drawn from uptempo’s front rank: The Dark Horror, Deadly Guns and Lil Texas among them. Stages followed the same trajectory: Defqon.1, Shockerz, and his own hosted event, Dimitri K & Friends.

The current run

The catalogue keeps accelerating: ‘Feel The Ground Shake’ (2025) set up a 2026 in which ‘IN ANOTHER LIFE’, ‘Dimension’ and ‘Goodnight’ all pushed to the top of his Spotify catalogue in HDRR’s tracking. In a genre obsessed with speed, Dimitri K’s rise has been the fastest thing about it.
