Krowdexx

Krowdexx (Giulio Destefanis and Simone Calvino from Alba in northern Italy) took the long road to the top of rawstyle’s hardest corner, and ended up defining it.

From Piedmont to the polder

Both born in 1996, the two started out as Noisedominators (the alias that won them the Shock DJ contest in 2013) before rebranding as Krowdexx and releasing their first track ‘Y.A.T.’ on the Dutch label X-RAW Records at the end of 2015, followed by a run of early releases. The turning point came on 5 November 2016: their first show on Dutch soil, at Radical Redemption’s Militant Mayhem event, put their name on everybody’s radar. By early 2017 they had signed with Gearbox Digital (raw’s leading label, home to Mutilator and Anderex) and the Pure Bookings agency, with a Scantraxx EP following in 2018.

Faces of xtra raw

A decade into the project, Krowdexx have become the defining act of xtra raw: rawstyle pushed to its limits, all deranged screeches and crushing kicks. Their recent run underlines the momentum: a signing with Aggressive Records, the WE THE LOUDEST live act, and the Shutdown Festival anthem produced with Mish. With a Spotify popularity score that outstrips artists with far bigger follower counts, their music finds its audience fast.

Why they matter

Krowdexx prove the harder styles’ talent map keeps widening: an Italian duo carrying a Dutch-born genre’s most extreme flag. For anyone tracking where raw goes next, their release schedule is required listening.
