HOLY PRIEST

Holy Priest is one of the defining faces, or rather masks, of the hard techno boom. A German producer who hides behind a white mask marked with a black cross, he turned anonymity into an asset and rode the scene’s explosion to a huge following. His sound sits at the dark, uncompromising end of hard techno.

From TikTok to the mainstages

Holy Priest emerged in 2022, posting sets and tracks to TikTok as hard techno was breaking into the mainstream. The track ‘Atomic Bomb’ became his calling card, and its momentum carried him from short clips to real festival and club stages. Where many hard techno artists trade on personality, he did the opposite, letting a faceless, almost cult-like image do the work.

The FXCK sound

His productions are built for maximum impact: hard, pounding kicks, distorted basslines and bleak, ritualistic atmospheres. He runs his own label, FXCK, and has also released through hard techno homes like Revised Records and CodeX. Tracks such as ‘Rave Penetrator’, ‘Emergency Outbreak’ and ‘Holy Atlantis’ show a producer chasing intensity above all else, in the same lane as scene leaders like Sara Landry and fellow risers like Fantasm and Schrotthagen.

A brand built on mystery

By keeping his identity hidden, Holy Priest made the mask itself the story, a rare feat in an era of oversharing. Deep into the 2020s the releases keep coming at pace, from ‘I RUN’ to a steady stream of collaborations, and HDRR tracks each one as it lands.
