Max Enforcer is the rare alias whose owner is more famous under another name. Kelly van Soest rules hardcore as Evil Activities; Max Enforcer is his hardstyle passport: melodic where his gabber is merciless, and successful enough to headline in its own right.

The Beholder years

The alias’ formative partnership is with The Beholder: fourteen shared credits in HDRR’s tracking, covering a run of late-2000s classics, the Zero Vision project, and the peak: ‘Be Amazed’, the official Hard Bass 2009 anthem, roared out to a Gelredome full of team-yellow ravers. A cross-border handshake with the Italian camp followed in ‘Respect’ (2009) with Hardstyle Masterz.

Lost In Paradise

In 2013 van Soest joined forces with Wildstylez on Lose Control Music, and the alias delivered its defining solo statement: ‘Lost In Paradise’, still the top Max Enforcer track on Spotify in HDRR’s tracking. Later singles like ‘WKND’ (2016), ‘Deep’r’ (2017) and ‘Sundown’ (2018) kept the melodic lane open, alongside repeat collaborations with Frontliner.

Two genres, one producer

HDRR tracks 58 Max Enforcer releases from 2002 to 2022. Few producers have run a top-tier career in two harder styles at once. The trick is that both sides share the same songwriting instinct, just at different BPMs and temperatures.
