About Tha Playah

Tha Playah’s DJ story starts in the mid-nineties, but the scene met him in 2002, when Jim Hermsen unleashed a storm of hits on Neophyte Records, remarkable partly because the label signed him at the very start of his career, a vote of confidence hardcore rarely hands out.

Proving it record after record

He justified it release by release: ‘Rotterdam Nightmare’ became the anthem for the celebrated return of the legendary event, while ‘Weird Shit’ and ‘Fuck the Fame’ cemented a reputation for hooks that survive the hardest kicks. He came up in a golden Neophyte Records class alongside Evil Activities, Nosferatu, The Viper and Kasparov, the roster that helped Neophyte’s label explode.

Guerrillas

In 2017 that family formalised itself on stage: Tha Playah joined Nosferatu, Furyan and Neophyte himself in Guerrillas, an exclusive live-act uniting four generations of the label’s firepower. It wasn’t his first supergroup either: he is part of The Supreme Team alongside Angerfist, Outblast and Evil Activities, hardcore’s all-star formation.

Still in rotation

His catalogue keeps moving: the 2026 Nosferatu remix of ‘Just Like Me’ currently leads his Spotify tracks in HDRR’s tracking, a fitting sign that the label brotherhood still powers the project.

Every new Tha Playah release lands on the Hardcore Release Radar the day it hits Spotify. The full tracked catalogue is listed above.
